Her Majesty's Boudoir Scepter

Ahhh...the Queen needed a new powder puff scepter for use in her boudoir. She commissioned one in pink rayon velvet with silk satin flowers, vintage rhinestones, vintage crepe paper and silver lace. May it grace her beautiful face in preparation for many fanciful soirees to come!

Keep Your Head On!!! A New Crown for the Queen of Hearts

Ahh....I have been journeying to Wonderland lately. My first find there was this millinery confection. I made it for another Mad Hatter, Tristan, over at http://tristanrobin.blogspot.com/. It was one of the inaugural swaps for the Mad Tea Party Mail Art site I have recently started. I am sure he will be the King of many hearts when he dons his crown! Tristan~ require all of your humble subjects to bow and scrape and to address you as Sir King of Hearts, master string puller and judge of tarts!

A Crown for the Queen and Beautiful Flowers From Her Crepe Paper Garden

The Queen needed a new crown, so she turned to her realm's most inspired milliner. Here is the clever concoction the milliner produced! Complete with vintage crepe paper, glass buttons, vintage fabric scraps, vintage glass pearl strands, glass glitter, antique sheet music, hand dyed Ostrich feathers, luscious ribbons, fancy silver metal trim, and sweet polka dot papers.
She also asked her gardener to cut her some tiny crepe paper roses. They are frosted with some beautiful gold dust glitter! Won't they look pretty adorning some of her more worthy art projects?

The Queen Sits for Her Portrait

This afternoon, I was privileged to paint the Queen's portrait. She looks stunning in her lavender wig and cloud of blue silk. This little jewel is acting double duty as a card from a secret friend gift I will soon be mailing out!
Original watercolor based on an extant portrait of Marie Antoinette.
